"Jillian Ordes-Finley, aka the Verdant Muse, discovered tribal fusion in 2009 and became immediately obsessed. She worked her way through dance classes and began performing, where she discovered her true passion was costume design. Since 2011, she has been a full time costume designer, making head to toe creations with an emphasis on vintage and salvaged materials, sustainable and eco-friendly practices, and top notch craftsmanship. She grew up with a mother & grandmother who were expert seamstresses, her grandmother being a career seamstress and lifelong employee for Singer. Their high standard continues to inspire her to this day!
Jillian also admires the way that excellent costuming has the ability to transform and elevate a performance, to truly take the audience to another place. She's worked with dozens upon dozens of dancers, from Midwest girls from tiny towns who spend their summers at Ren Faires, to world-touring dancers like Sharon Kihara, Zoe Jakes, Henna, Sedona Soulfire, and Colleena Shakti. She is eager to share what she's learned in making over 200 bedlah sets and costumes, and countless headdresses and clothing items. She also wants to help others learn to love their tools and materials, develop an eye for design, and experience the joys of creating."
