Let's talk food! In each cottage there is a small fridge and microwave. We highly suggest that you pack along a cooler with foods that need cooler temperature storage. With retreat being in February, you can easily leave your cooler on the front porch of your Cottage or outside of the Party Cabin. There is an ice machine up at John Grey Hall in the side warming kitchen that you can freely use. There is a fully stocked kitchen in the Party Cabin that everyone is open to using. It has all the pots and pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, toaster, microwave and large coffee pot for your use. Also invited are local food carts to feed us as we know sometimes we don't feel like cooking. They are usually on site all day Friday and Saturday. As we get closer to retreat you will find more information about what carts will be joining us, their hours along with their menus. We always try and find food vendors that are able to help cater to all the different ways we eats.
We have some really beautiful and fun lodging at retreat. You can either stay in a sweet Cottage or the active Party Cabin. Each cottage is filled with four rooms that each have two sets of bunk beds that have droors underneath them. Thick sleeping pads are on each bed as well for comfort. Windows and heaters are in all rooms and a sweet little living room area is centered within them all. Large bathrooms are also included and you can request a quieter cottage or if you enjoy some evening chatter with friends we have those too.
the party cabin!
This is a major gathering spot at RDOO. Just across the drive way from the main building, the party cabin is where your fully stocked kitchen is along with a large living room that overlooks the highly photographed pond. You are welcome to sleep here as well but please note, it does get noisy. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the place to be. Each room has two, large wood framed bunk beds for sleeping. A small closet is also available in each room. Everyone is welcome to hang out in the Party Cabin. Come take a break in the living room, enjoy some fun breakfast conversation, cook your food, practice some dance. It's all here for you when you need to step away from the main hall. We ask that everyone help in keeping up on the dishes and that you clean your room up before you leave. We will have ample recycling bins available as well.
